Radio Interview on Health Care for a Post-Peak Oil World PDF Print E-mail

As readers know, I've written about the difference between healing and today's petrochemical-drug oriented medical system. The insurance being debated is seldom about true health care, especially not for post-petroleum living. Should Baby Boomers be worried only about government programs, or also some of their modern conveniences taken for granted? Some of these trappings of our troubled civilization hardly work and are toxic.

Update: Radio show archived. Listen now at Coping With Caregiving (go to episode 3) ___________________________

Original story:
I will be on the popular “Coping With Caregiving” Internet radio program Saturday, Sept. 26, mainly discussing elder care (something in which I have experience). Related issues we'll talk about will be natural healing, mutual aid -- my concept of elder care "insurance" via a Health Care Tribe. Author Daniel Quinn thought it was an intriguing notion, and I hope my radio interview audience will agree.

The radio show features four guests and is broadcast live from 3-4:00 pm Pacific Time (6-7:00 pm Eastern), with my interview at 3:30 pm, segment #3. To listen in, simply click on the yellow “listen live” button at the upper left of wsRadio.com/CopingWithCaregiving. If you miss the live broadcast, by Monday evening September 28 you can listen to the online archive anytime. If you need help with Internet radio see wsRadio.com/how-to-listen.cfm.

The host of the 7½ year old program, Jacqueline Marcell, is an eldercare advocate, international speaker, and author of the best-selling book Elder Rage.

I hope you will listen and send me your comments! At bottom is a press release which I hope you will share with any media outlets you're familiar with. Thanks,

Jan Lundberg

Jan Lundberg to be interviewed on eldercare and mutual aid for tomorrow’s post-petroleum culture. Host: Eldercare & Alzheimer’s Expert, Jacqueline Marcell, Author of “Elder Rage”
September 23, 2009 — Jan Lundberg, originator of Elder Care 'Insurance' Through a Health Care Tribe, will be interviewed on Sept. 26,2009 at 3:30 pm Pacific West Coast Time (U.S.).

Besides exploring elder care and health in a fast changing world when peak oil's hitting, part of the program will be about Jan's experience as a caregiver. "In the 1990s my mother needed special attention after strokes and elder abuse. I was glad to learn a new skill, care-giving. But she became a special court case when her oil money got her into trouble and her life was controlled by others hostile to her wishes."
